Job Description

 I.  JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Audits Coordinator will be primarily responsible for project management functions related to the management of agency and regulatory third-party audits and examinations.

II.  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate high-profile exams such as Freddie, Fannie, Ginnie Mae, FHA, VA, etc.
  • Facilitate State/Client/Joint Venture exams.
  • Primary contact with regulatory agencies and clients for all external exams. Including timely follow-ups on examiners’ requests.
  • Gather evidence related to exam requests by working directly with all levels of management throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate onsite and remote examiner requests for information.
  • Assist in the drafting of audit finding responses to regulators as required.
  • Perform root cause analysis on exam findings and work with appropriate business units on corrective action plans.
  • Maintain the Compliance Committee and Risk Committee meeting schedules and organize the preparation of information for deck presentations.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Compliance information management system
  • Exam status reporting to management for dept.
  • Other compliance related duties/responsibilities, as assigned.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in regulatory Compliance with mortgage and consumer products, and/or managing regulatory exams in the financial services industry or related experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal regulations and state laws; including but not limited to Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg. B – ECOA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), Mortgage Acts and Practices – Advertising (Regulation N), and CFPB.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to influence through collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct independent research and solve problems.
  • Self-motivated, high level of personal energy and commitment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, take on new responsibilities and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
