I. JOB SUMMARY:

The Finance Analyst will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations by conducting daily Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting, developing, and implementing financial models, and providing strategic insights to drive business decisions.

II. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting to track financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to analyze profitability, risk, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, conduct analyses, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize business operations.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and outliers in financial data to support forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and ad-hoc analyses for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency enhancements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of mortgage banking regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Stay current with market trends, economic indicators, and industry benchmarks to inform decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement data management solutions, leveraging tools such as Excel, SQL, and other query languages.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and financial modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Experience with query languages such as SQL is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of mortgage banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
