Job Description

I. JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Network and Communications Manager, is responsible for the management and monitoring of the Supreme Lending network infrastructure; supports, maintains, and evaluates the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both physical and virtual computer network equipment, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. The Network Engineer is vital in recommending changes that minimize risk as well as mitigate threats and vulnerabilities in daily operations.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

II. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides high levels of customer service when responding and resolving issues that may be delivered via automated alerting, phone, email or direct contact.
  • Delivers on all tasks with a high degree of accuracy and according to established schedules.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects.
  • Completes configuration and setup for new branch locations and branch moves.
  • Provides network and remote connectivity hardware/software support; maintains LAN documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.
  • Installs, supports, and maintains both physical and virtual network appliances.
  • Provides training and mentoring to technical support team with network troubleshooting, upgrading and overall knowledge.
  • Coordinates special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving.
  • Documents system changes and ensuring configuration documents are updated with each change.
  • Plans, designs and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems.
  • Monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.
  • Develops, maintains and implements network support, researches and evaluates new technologies related to computer networking
  • Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

III. Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Networking in the TCP/IP LAN/WAN (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and SD-WAN) environment; wireless is highly desired.
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP routing and switching certification is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge with Palo Alto Firewall, Cisco Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, and Meraki.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Active Directory, VMware, networking and UNIX / Linux Systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Displays excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in mortgage industry preferred.
